NSN Resource Exchange

As a distributed support, research and information exchange facility, the NSN Exchange serves its partners and provides an interface to the NII community. It serves as repository to NSN Testbed research and host to its partners' projects, pointers and collaborations.

The Exchange Desks
Six desks are key to the support function of the Exchange: organizing; data resources and pointers; tracking research; and encouraging partner contribution and participation.

Online Internet Institute
Helping educators learn to use the Internet in shaping curriculum and connecting them with colleagues. OII stresses knowledge building -- mentoring teachers in the use of the Internet and helping them develop curriculum from online resources.

1995 Baseline Survey
Conducted in the spring of 1995 by Dr. Henry Jay Becker of the University of California, Irvine. A statistical portrait of the charter group of NSN school members.

Clearinghouse
Currently under construction, this will be a source for reviews, evaluations, and recommendations on educational software, videos, curriculum materials, books and articles, TV, etc. Our partners will supply the expertise and the evaluation. First offerings in October 1996.

Research Libraries
An active repository for the research of the NSN Testbed and of continuing sponsors and participating organizations of the U.S. education community.

Tools
The NSN Testbed has been developing an array of tools to assist students, teachers, and members of the community in the use of telecommunications in education.
